Rosemary & Grapefruit natural deodorant recipe 🌿

Rosemary & Grapefruit natural deodorant recipe 🌿

I wanted to share this lovely simple 4 ingredient natural deodorant recipe 🌿

This all natural homemade deodorant is so easy to make only requiring a few ingredients & minimal processes.

Bicarbonate of soda is a pH neutraliser & antibacterial, & as we know has been used for decades to clean & remove odours in our homes.
As bicarbonate of soda neutralises pH levels in our skin for some people this may cause a reaction as the pH level is changing.
If this occurs discontinue use, try using less bicarb in the recipe.

Arrow root is interchangeable with tapioca starch & even corn starch, so whichever one you have in your cupboard or find easily in the shops. I’ve found most health food shops sell arrow root & loose bicarb & both are pretty inexpensive.

Ingredients: 🌿

40 grams Arrow root ( or can use tapioca starch)
25 grams bicarbonate of soda ( baking soda)
40 grams Shea butter
38 grams coconut oil
Essentials oils of your choice

Method:

Gently melt the Shea butter & coconut oil in a Bain Marie.
Mix in the powders until a smooth consistency.
Then add a few drops of essentials oils of your choice.

I’ve used Rosemary & Grapefruit essential oils for their deodorising properties.
Rosemary is anti microbial, anti fungal, antiseptic, antioxidant & astringent.
Rosemary essential oil works well at fighting the bacteria that causes underarm odour & its also gentle on the skin.
Grapefruit essential oil is another great one to add to deodorant as it’s reviving, citrusy fresh & invigorating.
Grapefruit essential oil is antibacterial & anti inflammatory, helping skin conditions such as itching & rashes, soothing the underarm area.

Have a lovely week everyone 🌿🤍🌿
