This time last year I created a dry incense blend designed to cleanse, balance, and ground your home during these transitional cooler months.
I adore natural essential oil blending but wanted to have something that felt a bit more tangible to the changing seasons, something that could be sprinkled with your fingers, feeling the textures and crispiness of the dried herbs and resins. A pot to be opened and breathed in, something that could work both on top of a crackling wood burner and dry (without water) in an oil burner, perfect for embracing the seasons in a truly nordic Hygge way bringing in the cosy, warm and calm.
The Blend
This incense can be gently heated on your wood burner, oil burner (without water), or charcoal disc.
-
Rose – For softening the heart, encouraging self-love, and bringing a sense of gentle calm.
-
White Sage – for its cleansing properties, helping to clear stagnant energy.
-
Mugwort – A wonderful herb for intuition, protection, and spiritual balance.
-
Frankincense – Deeply grounding it anchors the blend and fills your space with a sacred, resinous warmth.
It's floral, grounding and cleansing - I am obsessed!
How to Use
-
On a wood burner: take a few pinches of the blend and place in a heat proof ramekin and place on top of your stove and let the heat gently release the aroma.
-
Oil burner (without water): Place a few small pinches in the bowl of the burner and allow the warmth from the candle to release the scent.
-
Charcoal disc: For a more intense aromatic experience, burn it on a charcoal disc on something heatproof - the charcoal get very hot. Top tip - after lighting the charcoal disc, place outside for a few moments so the smokiness from the charcoal doesn't disperse in your home. Then bring back in and place a sprinkle of the dry incense blend on the lit charcoal disc.
As we turn inward with the changing seasons, this blend is an invitation to slow down, breathe deeply, and connect with the quieter rhythms of life.
hope this blend brings you many moments of calm, cosy Hygge'ness.
Love, Charli x
